MAJOR OEM UPDATES TO ENSURE AVAILABILITY OF QUALITY OF FIRE AND SECURITY PRODUCTS IN WEST AFRICA AND EUROPE

Carrier is happy to announce that a new ‘Solutions’ section is available on European and local websites.  The new solutions pages cover the main challenges and needs of specific market segments and explain how Carrier and Aritech can help with state-of-the-art technology. As part of the Aritech customer-centric approach, a link is made between well-defined needs and where technology provides an answer. Currently, information on four market segments has been published and more segments will be covered moving forward.
One can find out what is available and what they have to offer for the Retail, Office Building, Distribution Center, Museum, and Art Gallery segments.

New Fire Container Pressure and Temperature Remote Monitoring Technology

Great brands continue to evolve to meet the needs of customers worldwide in compliance standards, codes, best practice, and the requirements of the AHJ. Fire Container Pressure and Temperature Monitoring Technology, Clean Agent Monitoring, FM-200 Remote Status, Novec, Sapphire,NFPA2001

CARBON AUDIT AS A CATALYST FOR SUSTAINABILITY

CARBON AUDIT is often interrelated to ENERGY AUDIT, why? It is because carbon emission is a product of energy consumption. Various sources of energy have some level of contribution to atmospheric greenhouse gases which are mainly Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Nitrous oxide (N2O) and Methane (NH4) as these gasses accumulates in the atmosphere to form a shiel of gasses called Greenhouse Gases (GHGs).

A CASE STUDY OF ODE INSULATION PROJECT BY JOHNSON CONTROLS

ODE is a rapidly growing company and one of its latest developments is a new 75,000 sqm facility, incorporating a 70,000 sqm manufacturing space at Eskisehir in northwest Turkey and is currently the world’s third-largest rubber foam manufacturing plant. The plant processes include extruded polystyrene thermal insulating materials, polymer-modified bituminous waterproofing blankets, glass wool products used for heat and sound insulation and fire safety, and elastomeric rubber foam insulating material. These processes involve combustible materials and part of the foam manufacturing process also includes ovens in which oils are heated to over 225° Celsius. Efficient fire precautions are of paramount importance. As Turkey’s fire regulations cover just a base level of protection, ODE sought advice from various professionals on full fire protection for the plant, including Johnson Controls.

AVIATION SAFETY COMPLIANCE

A source from Aviation Safety Networks – recorded aviation accidents from 1942 to 2021 with airliner accidents ranging from 8 to 99, and fatalities range from 59 to 2389. Corp jet accidents ranging from zero to 13 and fatalities ranging from zero to 78 were recorded. Hijacking accidents ranging from zero to 86 and fatalities ranging from zero to 268 were recorded. These statistics clearly show that the magnitude of loss of life and asset were significant, and are evident that the aviation safety is a high hazard or high-risk level if not properly managed to reduce risk to As-Low-As-Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). Safety Experts are thus required to carry out safety studies and reviews for both life and fire safety, technical and process safety, and environmental safety at conception, design, procurement, installation, and maintenance stages of aviation assets. We focus more on the life and fire safety compliance aspects as they apply to the aviation sector in this context. A structured framework consisting of sets of processes, and tools for management of safety systems and programs are inevitable for aviation industry.

THE ROLE OF CONSLTING ENGINEERS IN INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN A RECteESSED ECONOMY

SAFETY CONSULTANT & SOLUTIONS PROVIDER is attending the AGM & SEMINAR 2022 as ” Expert Consulting Engineers providing the Safety and Security blueprints for sustainable infrastructural growth and development across Africa” in the following niche services: Technical Safety, Fire Safety Systems Engineering, HSE-Management Systems and Occupational Safety, and Security Systems Engineering.

MARINE FIRE SUPPRESSION SOLUTIONS FOR FPSO

Adequate fire safety equipment, instrumentation, and engineered services are required for protection of life, asset, environment, including operational continuity by avoidance of downtime lost to shutdown of facility during fire outbreak. Engine rooms of marine machineries are protected with aerosol fire suppression systems whether marine production platforms, cargo ships, ferry boats, flotillas, cruise ships, yachts, cargo ships and small boats. Intrinsically safe equipment with low tendency to produce sparks and high temperatures are the best options, while extrinsically safe equipment acts to check process risk thereby reducing fire risks, and hazards to As-Low-As-Reasonably-Possible (ALARP). Pre-engineered fire protection solutions are so effective due the packaged and automated nature of such helps in early fire response.

EUROPE’S RAVAGING WILDFIRE AFRICA’S SAFETY GAIN

Generally, policies put in place to combat wildfires are rallied around several policies.  To start with, Government and all stakeholders must be fully prepared in acquiring first intervention equipments such as forest fire trucks, aircraft dispensers, communication gadgets amongst many others.  Also new technologies such as Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems should be leveraged on to improve on data acquisition and analysis for fire forecasting and prediction as prevention is increasingly considered as the most important approach to wildfire management. Investing in fire prediction and prevention is paramount proactively; and a commitment that must be at the heart of all which must evidently play out at local, sub national and regional levels.  Africa must strengthen education and awareness improvement on wildfire prevention to teach citizens on personal and corporate safety tips . More so, policymakers must focus on strengthening cooperation and mutual integration between stakeholders and countries as fire knows no borders or sector. This will require greater coordinated expertise through public – private partnership and concerted multidisciplinary research.
